We are headed out tonight to drive to Gulf Shores for a week with the Woolleys. Since we have been together, Rusty and I have never driven anywhere farther than Dallas. We always fly. So, what would happen the day before we hit the road? Car problems, of course!!
Yesterday, I was going to work early so that I could work a few extra hours. My biggest fear finally came true while driving on the Beltway. I was in the far left hand lane between a concrete wall and a semi and a metal object came flying at me! There was no way to avoid it, it hit my front tire and caused a blowout! Then, I had to make it across four lanes of traffic going 80 miles an hour, to get to the median! I did safely, but at the cost of my entire wheel. So, I have spent two days and $600 so that we can get on the road tonight! So frustrating, but I am so thankful. I know that it could have been a much worse! God protected me and then provided some honest service people that saved me some money when they could have taken advantage of me. So much for getting to work early and making a little extra money!
I was tempted to leave the Trailblazer in the service department and bring a new Tahoe home. I thought that would make for a great road trip! I wasn't sure that Rusty would agree with me though!

Wow, Jenni! So thankful that you weren't hurt...could've been bad! Hope you guys an uneventful trip today! Have a great time. Thanks for your congratulations and prayers! Love ya!
Blowouts are scary! I'm glad you were safe. Have a fun time on your trip.
Goodness! That is scary! I hope your drive to Gulf Shores is much less eventful!
Thank God you are safe! That is so scary. I had a blowout once...thought I was going to die from my panic attack alone!
Have a wonderful time on your trip!! E-mail me when you get back in town - I think it's time for another date!
xoxo,
Erica
P.S. I've always wanted a Tahoe too. I would have supported you in that purchase (for whatever that's worth!).
Glad you are OK, Jenni! That is so scary. I'm impressed that you handled it so well-I am having to wait for Luke to get home tonight to put air in my tires. He wouldn't just let me take it to the dealer for service on that. :) Have a great weekend!
