I have a confession

As embarrassing as it is to admit, I have to tell you that I voted today for the first time ever!

Yes, I realize that I am 28 years old and have been eligible to vote in the last two elections, but today was my first.
In 2000, I don't really know why I didn't. Except that it was very crazy time in my life and I, being a responsible college student, probably did not even register.
In 2004, I had every intention of voting and then realized (after it was too late!) that I STILL was not registered. I was so embarrassed and swore Rusty to secrecy. We went to a party that night to watch the results come in and I just played along like I had cast my ballot that day as well.
One of the first things that I did when we moved into our new house was register! I have been looking forward to today, when I could proudly wear my "My vote counted" sticker.

You can imagine my disappointment when I cast my ballot and walked out only to have the (not so nice) lady tell me that they had no stickers. Oh well, my vote still counted. Better late than never....

I'm so proud of you! ;)

I enjoyed our lunch date today. Let's do it again soon.

I'm praying for you!

I voted today, too, and didn't get a sticker either!!! What is up with that?! :)

Aaron was 27 when he voted the first time. Coming from a family of voters who started voting right at 18 and voted in every primary and every tiny election, I found this appalling. Our first dating conversations centered around early voting locations and how he'd better get himself out there and vote. He did, and I ended up marrying him after all :) I'm proud that you voted! I hope there are many more people like you who have never voted before but will let this election be their first (McCain needs all the help he can get!) Hope things are going well :)
