One step closer...

For those of you that have been praying and asking us to keep you posted.....
We had an appointment today and I left the office feeling encouraged, but a little overwhelmed. Rusty and I both had to do some blood work (I was so proud when he didn't faint!). I got my first Lupron injection. And then, we went over the calendar and what to expect in the next few months. I should start start the daily injections next week to stimulate my ovaries. I will go in every 2 days for blood work and ultrasounds. When the follicles are mature enough, we will do the egg retrieval. Then they will use the ICSI procedure (http://www.ucsfivf.org/ucsf-icsi.htm) to fertilize the eggs. If anything fertilizes, we will transfer the embryos 3-5 days later. That is the step that we are praying the hardest for! Because of the quality of the sperm, there is a good chance that nothing will fertilize and then we will have to start the process over again.
After the transfer, I will have to do three days of strict bed rest (not even a shower- that should be interesting). They will continue to monitor my hormone levels with blood work, but I will have to wait a full 14 days to find out if I am pregnant. God has been so gracious with His lessons of patience over the past year, but I know that those two weeks will be another opportunity to grow that in me. It will be the longest two weeks of my life!
We are excited to be one step closer in the process and are encouraged to have actual dates in front of us now. We finally feel like we are being proactive in the process!
Thank you all for your prayers during this time. We are so grateful for all that God is teaching us. He has been SO faithful and has shown endless provision for us.
