Kaely

My friend Kaely came to stay with us this weekend and we had such a great time! Hobby loved having a "big sister" and followed her everywhere. He was by her side no matter what she did:Taking a nap
Doing a breathing treatment

We went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and played in the "Chicken-Fry Park" (as my niece, Addison calls it). When Kaely's mom, Jacque, went for her 20 week ultrasound, she found out that Kaely had a diaphragmatic hernia. She and Paul were told that Kaely would have a 20% chance of survival. They then went to a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist who encouraged them to abort. They (obviously) didn't and Kaely celebrated her 2nd birthday last week!
It hasn't been easy. She has had to go through quite a bit for such a small girl. But, to see her now brings me such joy! She is such a sweet girl and so smart! (I was amazed that she is already potty trained! ) If Paul and Jacque had not believed so strongly in the sanctity of her life, they could have easily listened to the "almighty doctor" who is supposed to know it all. I am sure that many people do. How many children have we lost because the odds were against them? Her parents have fought hard to get her where she is today, but I know that they would tell you that she was worth every minute of it.

I can't believe how big she is already. What a little miracle.
