All is well with the Woolleys...

Thanks to my nephew and his perfectly timed birthday, we are safe and dry in Oklahoma. Long before we had heard of Ike, we had tickets to fly out on Friday to be here for his bday. When things started to get ugly, we changed our flight and were able to get out on the last flight on Thursday night. We were scheduled to come home early this morning, but chose to wait another day in the hopes that flights will more on schedule and things will calm down a little bit in Houston. We are still without power, so neither of us are in a hurry to get home! However, I do need to get home and get back to work. Babies still come, even if there is no power!
Thanks to our wonderful brother and sister-in-law, Hobby is safe. He has evacuated with them and is on his way to Tyler. They also went to our house to assess things for us and cleaned out our fridge for us. We definitely owe them BIG time!
It sounds like we have some water damage to the sheetrock and carpet. I am anxious to see the extent of the damage. We are grateful though because we know that we are so lucky compared to others.
Rusty's parents live in Orange, TX where Ike did a lot of damage. They were able to go assess their home yesterday and found that they had 3 feet of water in the house. There were snakes and minnows all throughout the house. Because they left in such a hurry, there were some special things that got left behind and are ruined- Rusty's first Bible, baby pictures of both boys, pictures of their grandparents. The house is unlivable and might be for some time. Please keep them in your prayers. We know that we are all fortunate to have all that we do and that we have our safety. Things are just things, but it is devastating to lose such precious memories.
We hope that all of you are well and staying safe.

When we get home, I will post some pictures of our weekend and the birthday party. I just absolutely adore my nephew, Jackson and am so excited that we were able to be here for his special day!

I'm sorry to hear of the damage to Rusty's parents' home. Flood waters can be devastating, and it is sad to lose precious keepsakes. I'm glad everyone is safe, though.

It was nice to find you online. Prayers are with Sharon and Tommy. We have witnessed the devastation of flood waters in our neighbors' homes. We are schedule to have power back on Oct. 6th. Until then, it is good to check on everyone through blogs.

We have everything out of the house and tomorrow the sheetrock comes out thanks to Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Tyler.

HI! I've "stalked" your blog for awhile now finding it through Erica's and Courtney's blogs... looking for others going through this journey of infertility. And you actually know a couple people I know and grew up with- Ellie Bakk, the Watsons. Anyways- it's a weird blog to leave this message on, but... I am a foster mommy to 2 wonderful babies and am hoping to adopt them in the near future. And... my son is turning a year old in a couple of weeks and I am looking for someone to do pictures for me. I've been doing his pictures every month, but it is getting harder and harder as he is more mobile and doesn't just sit there anymore! And, for his 1 year pics I'd like someone who has a nice camera and knows a little about what they are doing. And, I've seen the pics you've done of other babies/kids and think they are great- my kind of style. Would you be at all interested? If so- send me a message and maybe we can talk about it. My email is jhattenberger@sbcglobal.net. Anyways- let me know if you'd be number one, interested and number two would be available in the next couple of weeks. Thanks- and I've enjoyed your blog for months now and have been praying for you and Rusty's journey... wherever God leads it.
