5th time's a charm (sort of)

I told you that I was attempting to be crafty this Christmas so I thought that I would show you one example.

When we were helping The Woolleys clean out the house after Ike, we found these silhouettes. There was one of Rusty, Tim, and their dad all done when they were 8 years old. His mom was going to throw them away, but I brought them home with the hopes of salvaging them.
These were the originals:And this was my final product:After messing up many times and starting all over, this was my 5th attempt! You can't tell in this pictures, but when I would put the Mod-Podge on, it would make the silhouettes part bubble up. As long as you don't get to close, you can't tell but I am pretty particular about stuff like that and it was hard for me to accept it less than perfect.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them! I gave it to Rusty's dad already, but would like to redo them, if I could make them better. For now, I guess it will have to be the thought that counts!

Rusty's dad loves them just as they are. I am so pleased to have them back. Thanks so much.

Those are awesome! Jess and I have used modpodge a lot and it seems to be just the process of working out the bubbles. You can also use a tiny straight pin to release some of the air from the bubbles.
Looking forward to lunch early in 2009!
love you!!!!

Mod-Podge just does that, but usually when it dries the bubbles won't show! Great job!

I've never heard of Modpodge, but it looks awesome. You did a mighty fine job my friend. I'm sure the men loved it and it has such a special meaning to each of them and Sharon. What a special gift that money could not buy!
