Our weekend

Though we didn't necessarily get any good news at our doctor's appointment, we did not get any bad news either. So, after leaving his office, Rusty and I felt encouraged and were able to enjoy the rest of the weekend.

First, we went to The Oasis for lunch. The weather was perfect and it was so nice to relax after the stress of the morning! What a view, huh? Can't find anywhere in Houston with this atmosphere!

After lunch, we went walked around campus and Rusty showed me his old stomping grounds at the law school. We went did a little shopping after that. Rusty bought me a new purse and a great little dress. You can never have too many little black dresses!

Then we headed to see our friends, Kyle and Melanie in Georgetown. It was so great to spend a few days with them and their beautiful daughter, Julia!

Saturday, they took us to Lake Georgetown and out in their new boat! Here is Julia's first dip in the lake. Poor thing did not like the cold water!!
How cool is this little cutie? We were amazed at how well she did on the boat! She just relaxed and hung out in the shade with Uncle Rusty. She even fell asleep in his lap! So sweet!

Rusty and I stuck to tubing:

But Kyle and Melanie both skied:
Melanie did a great job on the skies, but since it's my blog, I get to post the funny picture! :) Sorry, Mel. If it makes it any better, you looked graceful even when you were falling!

Thanks again, Kyle and Melanie! We had a great time and it was so good to see you. We really miss you in Houston!

Saturday night, we headed into Austin where Rusty planned a surprise date night for me. We had a wonderful dinner at Eddie Vs and then stayed in a suite at The Stephen F. Austin Intercontinental. It was a great night to relax and spend some quality time together.

Thank you to each of you that have emailed and texted to wish me a Happy Birthmother's Day or Mother's Day. Though it is a hard weekend for me, I am so blessed to have so many people that love me and want the very best for Rusty and I.

I want to wish all of you moms a very Happy Mother's Day.

And to the all of the future moms that read this, I am praying a special prayer for each of you today. Though our arms are empty and aching this year, I am trusting that God will provide and that each of us will soon celebrate this day! Until then, I pray that you will be full of His comfort and peace.

I was so excited to see Baby Julia all grown up. I can't get onto their blog any more so I loved seeing her looking so cute. I am so glad you had a good weekend. Thanks for spoiling me with such nice gifts.
