Haiti Update

First of all, please let me tell you how much I appreciated every single comment on my last post. It was so encouraging to see so many people say that they are reading the blog! So, for now I am not going to make it private. That may change in the future, but I will let you know so that you can come along, if you so choose.

Also, I want to thank you for your support about the Haiti idea. I truly expected everyone to be on Team Rusty and think I was crazy for wanting to go. So far, I haven't found the right opportunity. I have been in contact with two different teams, but it just hasn't worked out for one reason or another. I have to admit that I pretty bummed right now. I was very disappointed when I found out that the second team wasn't going to work out. I really thought that it was the right team.

So, I have given my contact information to several organizations and now I am just waiting to get a call. Maybe I'm not supposed to go after all, I don't know! I just have to trust that if the right opportunity comes along, God will work out the details.

I am so blessed to have you praying for this opportunity. As I have looked into the details of going, I have become a little bit overwhelmed. It is a scary thing. But, I am still as excited to go. Other than the thought of no Diet Coke for a week! Maybe I should start weaning off them now, just in case! I sure am not going to be very useful to anyone if I am in withdrawal!

Jenni,
I wanted to be on Team Rusty but my heart was really with you to go to Haiti. I want to go with you and I want to bring lots of babies home. I love you and am very proud of you for having such a beautiful heart.

Mr. Ted said, "if she goes, one or more of the orphans will be missing when she leaves..., they will be in her suitcase". I trust God to send you with the right team, if you are meant to go. Read Laura's post for today, love the explanation of the names.

Be patient. If it is meant to be, the right doors will open. Hang in there.

I hope you can go and bring me one, too.

Jenni,

Aaron's cousin is a doctor and has been there since right after the quake. His name is Craig Greene (you may have seen him on the news?) If you're interested, I could see how much longer he's going to be there, and how to get you in touch with him. My family doctor also just got back from Haiti and may know of other teams going. I will send her an e-mail and ask :) In the meantime, if you have nothing better to do, I'd love to do lunch sometime!

ok, when we ate dinner the other night, I really thought you were joking about the Haiti team thing. I am glad to know there are passionate people out there like you that are God's servants and working for Him!!
